In my recent post for Karbonn Smart Tab1, I have posted specifiction and features of this tablet and compare other same parice group tablet Micromax Funbook, HCL Me Tablet and Talking Tablet Fujezone x88 Smart Tab. But there are many questions are still unanswered about karbonn Smart Tab, So I listed some question and answered for these queries. Also I want that user who owned this tablet share their reviews so other visitors get help and correct information.
Ques1. Is Karbonn Smart Tab support Google Play Store?
Ans: Yes, It support play store and it is pre installed on device by the manufacturer company.
Qeus . What is internal Memory of Karbonn Smart Tablet
Ans: It have 8Gb internal Memory, So dont confuse in Gb (Giga bits) And GB (GigaBytes). Its have 1GB internal memory
Ques . Can we play HD games and 3D games ?
Ans: This device have 1.2 ghz which can be capable to most 3D and HD android games application.
Ques : Can we see the HD movie in karbonn smart tab1?
Ans: Yes, we can see the movie and videos of full HD 1080p.
Ques: Can we install skype in karbonn smart tab1?
Ans: Its a big question for manufacturer when smart tab user try to install the skype and other such important apps , the play store say ‘Your device is not compatible with Google play store”. This is really big issue . Hope that some developer forum have solution for this .
Ques : Can we install PC Suite in it and surf net by a dial up connection with help of a mobile?
Ans: It is not possible with current android devices . It is not a PC, just a tablet . You can connect usb dongle like Airtel data card and use 2g or 3g sim in it and can surf net. Or you can also use wi-fi feature if you are in any wi-fi area.
Ques: Is it PDF compatible?
Ans: Yes.

Skype not showing in Google Play. I have tried installing Skype APK verisons 2.8.0.920 / 2.6 /2.5 also but it’s not working.
It doesn’t support Google Play, althogh it is inbuilt but will reject most of the apps for this device… even facebook.. dont ever uninstall facebook you wont be able to install it back. see this my chat with google store

I bought a Karbonn smarttab1 in india from an Indian manufacturer Karbonn
When I am trying to install some basic applications like facebook, skype, temple run, angry bird
it says my device is not compatible
its a 1.2 Ghz tablet
Ics 4.0.3
with 512 mb ram

but when I see , its not listed here and also they did have facebook and angry bird installed initially. and it also has the google play app
they asked me to reset the tablet and since then applications like facebook and angry bird have also gone…

I have contacted Karbonn for the same issue, they are behaving like as they are surprised to know about this. Have asked them to refund or get it registered with Play Store.
Seems like the inbuilt applications have been installed using APK’s.
If the users get to know about this,then I think no one gonna prefer it over other tablets.
I have also get problem is that possible that compatible problem is solved many of application if they registered in google play store.
my friend who have the this tablet enjoying the tablet because he dont want to do more stuff with tablet. But I dont like because my mobile can install many of application but device is not..
Your chat with google employee is really helpful who want to buy this tablet because it is cheap.. if they know about its limitation then they can think for other. I want to know more about kobian tablet,, I have listen it have price under 4k.
My main intension to buy kaarbon smart tab was video calling via skype. But i got disappointed. Google play store did not find skype in market and i tried reaching skype web through tab and attempted to download. But i got a message that it is not compatible.
Even i tried for someother video calling apps such as Tango etc.. But so far no software could be found video calling on Kaarbon Tab.
The another issue is, I have Micromax 3G data card. When i inserted via USB port it doesn’t recognoze. I read it support dongle. I’m still confused dongle vs datacard. Can someone help me for this two issues?

Even I agree with Bala as I am also struggling to install Skype on it. Not only Skype, but there are other Apps also which cannot be installed as it does not support them for some reason..

I would like to inform everyone that skype is now available on karbonn smart tab 1 . To get it on your tab just go to your local karbonn centre and ask them to update your tablet with latest version announced by the karbonn company . New version has made this tab worth.

i have review both tabs micromax funbook and karbonn smart tab…………karbonn is the best trust me…………..moreover karbonn brand is more trustworthy than micromax………karbonn has better quality and has better feautures than funbook……….funbook is irritating to use for its low resolution camera…low touchscreen sensitivity and poor battery which is important for any tablet……so funbook loses the battle…………many may argue it has educational apps but mind it that you have to pay money before downloading the contents…….my id is…cbvignesh@hotmail.com…any doubts ask me

I bought Karbonn Smart Tab 1 two days back. But the video quality is not as per what I expected from a tablet supporting Full HD Video playback. When I watch a movie in 16:9 aspect ratio, I get a lot of pixelation on the screen and sometimes distorted video. My main intention was to buy the tablet for a good video experience. But this is absolutely a turn-off. Have you had a similar experience with videos ?

Angry bird and angry bird space got uninstalled when i reset the Karbonn Tab. Tried installing once again there seems to be compactibility issue. Can you please suggest any workarounds to fix this?
I got the Karbonn smart tab 2 days back and I’m pretty much disappointed with it. Following the cons and pros that I found out, let me first start with Cons
Cons
1. Display is not great and color reproduction is bad.
2. Majority of the app in Google play are not supported. There are workarounds but not straight forward
3. Though Karbonn claims this tab to be a good gaming device, its just the opposite. You hardly find any 3D games that are supported on this tab
4. Karbonn support seems non existent. Their toll free is not answering and service center guys are not even aware of this tablet. This is a new product so that could be the reason
5. Front facing 2MP camera is useless since none of the video chat apps are supported.
6. Kinetic scrolling is not great. Download Dolphin HD or some other good browser for better experience
7. If you do a hard reset, then will not be able to Install Google play and lots of other apps. Again there are workarounds for this aswell.
Pros
1. Good looks
2. Build quality seems good.
3. Battery life is good
4. WIFI is seamless, no disconnects and good reception as well
5. Good pricing
Conclusion.
You’ve to make a lot of compromises with these budget tablets. Micromax and HCL Me are almost similar to Karboon smart tab and will have almost all of the cons that I’ve mentioned above. Please do not have any high expectations from these budget tablets.
I’ll not advice anyone to go for these budget tablets.
I had brought this for my kids and they too are disappointed due to lack to gaming capability. ‘Micromax’ and ‘HCL Me’ too are the same
Karbonn smart tab is useless specialy the one which i purchased 5 days back .it frequently gets hanged and its screen blinks during reboot, is quite slow, battery gets heats up all together its a bubstandard product even its service centre are unable to resolve this problem and are trying to avoid replacement of product.

Thanx for lettin us know about these tablets. i was plannin to buy dis one. but now changed my mind. i’ll spend some extra bucks and buy amazon kindle fire from tradus.in its around 13k. very trusted brand. fire doesn’t support google play yet it has other alternatives.

No, It is an android device so you cant use normal browser of PC. but you can use android version of firefox, you can download it from google play store.
I have brought karbonn tab ..but it is not supporting IE7 n firefox,
After resetting the karbon tab,i have lost all important softwares like 3g mobile manager even file manager.i have created the backup but as i said the file manager is gone,i am not able to restore backup!

I can send you the 3g mobile manager. I did a backup of all the apps. As for the tablet its not worth, please don’t buy it to get fooled by Karbonn

You can download airdroid from playstore . it is such a good software for connecting phone to any pc wireless way. I like this application of airdroid. You will like it.

No, This tablet haven’t internal 3G modem , so you can only connect via some 3G dongles only . Calling facility and internet browsing via SIM not possible with this device. You can look Swipe Halo Tab X74S for your requirement.

My appeal to anyone who want to buy Karbonn smart tab is think very hard and set your priorities right. If you want it just for ebook reading, internet surfing and movies its ok, good battery backup and wifi support. But, what they don’t tell you is its based on MIPS processor rather than ARM. MIPS is not registered to googleplay, and most apk are arm based which means its incompatible to most of apk or android application and major drawback is no video calling, no skype. I was so frustrated with this tablet, I sold it after 10 days suffering 2000 rs loss, (sorry to the buyer). So be very sure what you are buying. I would never buy Karbonn again. Say this to your friends too, spread the word, don’t let these guys con any more customers.
